The last Newsletter that I sent out was in January 2015. On January 25th, I had a lap chole which was to be a snap. Well, it didn't snap. I was hospitalized until the 28th ; I won't mention the name of that place...but it should go down in infamy. I was home all of 15 hours and had a respiratory arrest. Thank God my daughter was with me...she is a cardiac nurse of 32 years. She called EMS...and I was whisked off to Shands hospital in Jacksonville. That is a marvelous...super hospital. I am pasting my daughter's quotes on Facebook-- because I was out of it throughout most of the FIVE week stay. Peggy wrote: For the friends of my mom, Frances, I wanted to let you know that she has been hospitalized, since January 26. She hasn't left facebook, nor her monthly RN blog willingly The majority of times she has been in critical condition, and has currently survived a simple abdominal surgery, an urgent quadruple bypass, postop emergency surgery, one near respiratory code, and two full code-blues. Typing this out actually takes me off my feet. It truly forces me realize the depth, and gravity of her situation, plus her strength and sheer will to survive. She is currently in the cardiac unit trying to fight off cardiac & pulmonary complications. This morning she will have a left thoracentesis performed. Please keep her in your thoughts, and prayers, Peggy.
The doc removed 550 CC during the thoracentesis.
Upon my discharge, Peggy took me (and my cats) to her home in West Palm Beach, FL for my recovery. I was there for three weeks.
I came home March 26th...and am walking daily. My ribs still hurt ...discomfort (?).
Not sure when I will start (or if) the newsletter again. I had one almost finished and AOL swallowed it whole. Have no idea where it is.
Please write me and give me your opinion about the Newsletter.
Sincerely,
Frances (RNFrankie@AOL.com)
